‘’Yedi Numara ‘’is a Turkish series featured on TV between 12 March 2000 and 7 December 2003. The story is about the funny relationship between the modern girls, peasant boys and half crazy householders.
In the story, Zeliha and Vahit is a couple who loves each other like crazy but have no child. They flee to Istanbul to get married. After, they buy an old three storey house and hire it for students to get by.
One day four girls, Armağan, Ayten, Cansu and Rüya , who have come to Istanbul for university rent the upper floor of the house. Meanwhile, Vahit’s relatives from the village, Recep and Haydar , win the university and come to Istanbul and settle in the bottom floor. They are from a small village and have no idea about Istanbul and city life.
In the first few episodes of the drama, girls and boys fight constantly because of their different life styles. For instance, boys feed chicken in the garden, eat onion, play saz, put out their shoes outside the door. But girls try to send them to their village by putting strict rules and listening to loud music to disturb them. In the end, they become good friends and live together happily. Zeliha and Vahit fullfills their longing for a child by being a mother and father to them.
CHARACTERS IN 7 NUMARA
Zeliha(Şebnem Sönmez ): She has no child but see the boys and girls in the house as her own children .
Vahit(Engin Alkan) :He is the father of the Yedi Numara family. He gets angry easily but has a warm heart. When the boys or girls have a trouble, he guides them to find the right way.
Armağan(Tuba Erdem): The most sensible girl among them is Armağan. She hasn’t got a family. That’s why, she loves the girls and protects them as a mother.
Ayten(Ayça Mutlugil) :She is so selfish and also gives great importance to her appearance .
Cansu (Gülden Güney):Cansu likes playing jokes and set traps to her friends.
Rüya(Nuray Uslu): A very emotional character. She likes crying and watching romantic films. She scares easily from Cansu’s jokes and screams.
Recep(Volkan Girgin): He is so mean that he hates extravagantness. He always quarrels with Ayten and makes fun of her.
Haydar (Okan Selvi): He is a math genius .He loves Armağan secretly but can’t tell her.
Why I chose this?
I chose this series because it is the TV show of my childhood and I have been watching it for a long time. Especially in the exam period last year, I was watching it and it definitely reduced my stress. And even I am a university student like them now; I’m still watching it with great pleasure. I’m sure that nearly most of us must have watched it. In my opinion, it has been one of the best and warmest drama series in Turkey. I wish it was being reshooted again.
Oh,my God! You have chosen one of the most beautiful Turkish Tv series. I am still watching those episodes when I encounter while zapping.Especially, Haydar was my favourite character and his sentence 'Heralde,galüba ,sanırsam..' is used frequently among my peers in those days.
