MICHAEL JACKSON ''KING OF POP''

Michael Jackson is the biggest pop icon of all time.Everyone knows about his voice and dance especially moonwalk.There are a lot of interesting facts which make him different and unique.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born on 29 August 1958 in Gary, Indiana .He was the seventh of nine children. He started his music career at six when he joined Jackson Five band which his brothers formed. Michael Jackson was very shy in real, but on stage he was turning to a different person. His dancing and voice caused him to become the focus of the group. 

 

After, he started his solo career. He gained great fame with his songs such as ‘’Thriller, Beat it, Billie jean’’. Three of Jackson's albums Bad, Dangerous and Thriller are among the bestsellers of all time. He gained 8 Grammy Awards in one night with Thriller and this album is still the biggest selling album in the world. He has sold more than 750 million records worldwide. 

Throughout his life he received a lot of awards. He won 13 Grammy Awards, 13 Guiness World Records including the most Grammy Awards won in a year, best selling music video, highest annual earnings ever for a pop star, most charities supported by a star and so on.

 Jackson's skin had been a medium-brown color in his youth, but in the mid 1980s, it gradually grew paler. Most people thought that he might be bleaching his skin. But this wasn’t true .Because Jackson had been diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus, which made his skin lightened and sensitive to sunlight.

Jackson's total lifetime earnings from solo recordings, music videos and concerts have been estimated at $500 million. He used much of his money to build an area which he named Neverland . He created an imaginary world like Peter Pan’s Neverland with pools, funfairs, theaters, the zoo and so on.

In 2009, Michael announced that he was going to make a last concert series called ‘’This Is It’’ .Therefore, he was spending hours for the rehearsal. But unexpectedly, he died on 25 June 2009. His death influenced his fans so deeply that unbelievably, 12 Michael Jackson fans committed suicide.

I think, it is clear that he has inspired new generations and will be forever known as the King of Pop.

Here is one of his hit songs ‘’Billie Jean’’ .This song is about a girl he met on the dance floor. She later claimed that Jackson was the father of her child. In lyrics he says: "Billie Jean is not my lover, she's just a girl who claims that I am the one. But the kid is not my son."
